Ways to use it

  • Five-minute warm-ups

Open Times Tables Battle on the whiteboard, choose Quick (10 questions) and let the class call out answers as the beat plays.

  • Times tables revision

Select the tables you've been working on, or tap All tables for a mixed review. Use the results screen to spot questions worth revisiting.

  • Independent practice

Children can start a game on a tablet or laptop with no login. Easy, Medium and Hard levels and untimed rounds suit a range of confidence.

  • Interactive whiteboard sessions

Questions are shown in very large type, and answers are big touch targets that work on touch and with a mouse or keyboard.

  • Maths clubs

Challenge a group to build the full track together, or pass the device around for a round each.

  • Friendly class competitions

Take turns on one device and compare scores on the results screen. Scores are only stored on that device. There are no public rankings.

Good to know

  • No accounts or student data. Nothing to register, and no personal information is collected.
  • Progress stays on the device. It's saved in the browser and can be cleared from Settings, which is handy on shared classroom devices.
  • Sound optional. Everything works with the sound off, so you can use it in a quiet room.
  • Gentle on mistakes. Wrong answers show the correct answer with a short explanation, and no points are lost.
  • Not tied to a single curriculum. The maths follows a broad progression for roughly ages 7 to 13 and is useful in Ireland, the UK and elsewhere.

Teacher questions

Do my pupils need to log in?

No. There are no accounts. Open a game and press Start.

Can I see my pupils' scores?

Not currently. Scores stay on each device by design, which keeps the site free of pupil data. Ask pupils to show you their results screen.

Will the sound be a problem in class?

Use the Sound button at the top of every page to switch it off. The games work identically without it.
