About HipHopMath

HipHopMath is a set of free maths games where you solve maths and build music at the same time. Every correct answer makes the beat richer: hi-hats, a bassline, a melody and, for a long streak, a celebration groove.

Why music?

Maths practice often feels like a worksheet. We wanted children to want to come back because the game is fun. A steady beat gives practice a pulse, and building a track makes progress something you can hear.

How the music works

All the sounds are made live in your browser, so there are no big audio files to download. Three original beats, Boom Bap, Funky Numbers and Chill Maths, are each built from layers that join in as you answer. If you slip up, the music thins out a little but never stops.

What we believe

• Accuracy first. Getting the maths right matters most. Rhythm is only a small bonus, and you can turn it off.
• No shame. Wrong answers lose no points. They show how to work out the answer.
• Privacy. No accounts, no ads, no tracking. Read the privacy notice.
• For everyone. Sound-off mode, calm motion, keyboard play and big touch targets are part of the design.
