HipHopMath

HipHopMath for parents

Practice your child will actually want to do, in a space designed with their privacy in mind.

How it feels to play

Your child picks a game and a beat, and answers questions while the music plays. Correct answers add instruments to the track. Wrong answers show the right answer and a short explanation, never a failure screen. There's no pressure to rush: getting the maths right matters most, and there are untimed rounds for a calmer pace.

Getting the most from it

  • Short, regular sessions of five to ten minutes tend to work better than one long one.
  • Start on Easy with a table your child already knows, then step up when it feels comfortable.
  • Use the “Questions to practise” list on the results screen to revisit the tricky ones.
  • Sit with younger children for the first round to help with the setup screen.

We don't make claims about test results. HipHopMath is a fun way to practise, and it works best alongside what your child learns in school. Read more in our privacy notice.

Frequently asked questions

Is it safe for my child to use on their own?

There are no accounts, chat, user-generated content or external links within the games, so children can play without supervision. Younger children may like some help with the first round.

How do I clear my child's scores?

Open Settings (at the top of any page) and choose Reset my progress.

My child finds the music distracting. What can we do?

Turn the sound off with the Sound button at the top of the page, or choose the calmer Chill Maths beat. Calm motion in Settings also reduces animations.
